Has it ever happened to you that you totally forget how many pink lipsticks you have and end up purchasing similar shades?! It happens quite a lot with me. Recently, I picked up “Vivid 9” from Maybelline’s Vivid Matte range, so let’s get straight to the review.

My Experience with Maybelline Vivid Matte by Colorsensational Lipstick – Vivid 9:
Packaging: The previously launched “Vivid Matte” range lipsticks came in black cases, but this new range has packaging similar to that of “Bold Mattes.” The red and silver combination is nonetheless good. There are color-coded stickers which add to the ease of searching. Overall, the packaging is nice and friendly, but I guess they could have taken the packaging a notch further.
Shade: Vivid 9 is a beautiful barbie pink color. It does not have any cool tones to it which makes it wearable. It is indeed vivid but not neon. This shade is a close match to Maybelline’s colorshow matte in “Pink Power” and also Bold matte in Mat1. And now I have all three! 
Texture and Pigmentation: I have mostly loved the soft matte texture of Maybelline. I never miss out on picking the matte formula whenever Maybelline launches such type. It is super soft and a creamy matte which doesn’t dry out lips. It neither tugs nor pulls during application. It however highlights dry patches and fine lines. It feels extremely comfortable on lips as well. The pigmentation is also pretty good; I need maximum of two swipes.
Lasting Power: I was really impressed by the lasting power actually. It lasted for around 5 hours on my lips with a few coffees in between. It fades a little but it totally survives such coffee breaks. And it also survived a meal with little fading from the center. But the faded part looked a little messy, so I had to eventually take it off and apply a fresh layer. Also, while it fades the color clings to the dry patches. It also leaves behind a pink stain which looks pretty.
Pros of Maybelline Vivid Matte by Colorsensational Lipstick – Vivid 9:
- Nice packaging.
- Lovely barbie pink color.
- Soft and smooth texture.
- Feels comfortable on lips.
- Doesn’t’ tug or pull.
- Will suit most skin tones.
- Very good pigmentation.
- Does not dry out my lips.
- Survives meals.
- Good lasting power.
- Leaves behind a pretty stain.
Cons of Maybelline Vivid Matte by Colorsensational Lipstick – Vivid 9:
- Packaging could have been something better.
- This shade is not that unique. Maybelline itself has similar shades.
- Clings to dry patches.
- Transfers a little.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Vivid Matte by Colorsensational Lipstick – Vivid 9?
I actually regret buying this since I have many lipsticks exactly like this one! If you own Mat 1 or Pink power then this can be skipped easily. I think it grows on me to be attracted to a particular shade
